Function and Superpower charge for a year up front: $365 and $349. Simpafy is $24.99 a month, $299.88 over a year, and you can stop any month. Insights you have not used are refunded. Function refunds within 48 hours of joining. Superpower does not refund.
Function and Superpower run one fixed panel, 160+ and 100+ markers, the same for everyone. Simpafy starts with a baseline panel and you add from 35 panels, so your bloodwork is the set of tests that matter for you. All three draw at Quest.
Function and Superpower twice a year, on their schedule. Simpafy leaves it to you. The base plan includes 3 Insights a year and bloodwork costs Insights, so you could draw 3 times with one panel each, or once with 3 panels together. Most panels are 1 Insight, and another Insight is $40.
We price add-on panels close to what the lab charges us, because we think deep bloodwork should be affordable. Most companies put a large markup on every test. An Insight is $40, and most panels are 1 Insight, some 2 to 4. Function, Superpower and similar companies typically charge materially more for the same bloodwork.
The count depends on how you count. A single urinalysis is 13 measurements. A blood count with differential is about 20. A metabolic panel is 14. Three ordinary tests already make 47 "biomarkers", and the big panels are mostly built this way. A bigger number is not better bloodwork. The right bloodwork for you is, and that is why Simpafy lets you choose what to test and when, instead of running the same 160 markers for everyone.
Function gives you a clinician-written summary and a dashboard. Superpower gives you an action plan and a care team you can chat with. Simpafy gives you Simpa, who reads your results, texts you what stands out, suggests what to test next, and keeps checking in for as long as you are a member.
