Is my data and privacy secure? General
Does Simpafy replace my doctor?No. Simpafy makes your doctor appointments more productive. You walk in with a clearer picture of your health than most patients ever have. But Simpafy is not a doctor, does not provide medical diagnoses, and does not replace the relationship you have with your physician.
Do I need to be a certain age?Yes. Simpafy is available to anyone 18 or older.
Is Simpafy available outside the US?Not yet. Simpafy is currently available in the United States only.
Can I share my results with my doctor?We're working on making it easy to share your Simpafy data with your doctor or anyone you trust. More on this soon.
Can I upload my own bloodwork?Yes. Forward any bloodwork results to Simpafy and we'll incorporate them into your longitudinal picture. Lab results from your doctor, a previous provider, or another testing service. Simpafy absorbs it all. The more history you bring, the sharper the insights from day one.

How much does Simpafy cost?$24.99/mo. That includes Simpa (your AI health companion via SMS and webapp) and 3 Insights per year for personalized bloodwork.Need more Insights? Add them anytime: $10/mo for a block of 3.
What is an Insight?Insights are the currency you use to order bloodwork panels. Simpafy groups tests into meaningful panels and optimizes the cost of each one so you get as much value as possible. The flexibility to mix and match panels on any draw is the kind of personalized bloodwork that would normally require an expensive concierge doctor. Panels cost 1 to 4 Insights depending on what's included.
How does billing work?Simpafy bills monthly on the date you signed up. Your Insights for the year are available right away. You don't have to wait for them to accrue. Monthly billing covers them over the year, but you can use them whenever you're ready.
Can I add more Insights?Yes. You can add Insights anytime by adjusting your subscription. A block of 3 Insights is $10/mo. Stack as many blocks as you need.
Can I change my plan anytime?Yes. You can add Insights, reduce Insights, or cancel anytime. When you make a change, Simpafy settles up based on what you've paid and what you've used, and you'll see the exact math before you confirm anything.
Can I cancel anytime?Yes. Cancellation is immediate. Unused Insights are refundable. An Insight is considered used once it's placed on a bloodwork order. You only pay for what you've used.
Can I gift or transfer my Insights?Yes. You can transfer Insights to any other Simpafy user anytime. Gifting is just a transfer. There's no separate gift product.An active subscription is required to use or transfer Insights.
Does insurance cover Simpafy?No. Simpafy does not bill through insurance and is not an insurance-covered service.That's by design. Insurance determines what you're allowed to test based on diagnosis codes and medical necessity, which usually means you need to already have a problem before they'll pay to look for one. Most of the biomarkers Simpafy tracks would only be ordered by a doctor if you were already showing symptoms.
Isn't bloodwork cheaper through my doctor and insurance?Usually no. A "covered" blood test still comes with an office visit copay, a lab copay, and the reality that your doctor will only order what insurance approves. If your doctor orders tests that insurance doesn't consider medically necessary, the claim gets denied and you receive a bill at the lab's retail rates, which can be dramatically higher than what you'd expect.Simpafy's pricing is transparent and fixed. You know what you're paying before you order. No surprise bills, no denied claims, no waiting for someone else to decide what you're allowed to know about your own health.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?We're working on making it easy to submit Simpafy bloodwork expenses to your HSA or FSA. Eligibility depends on your specific plan. Check with your plan administrator.

How does a blood draw work?Every blood draw uses 1 Insight on the Foundation+ panel, which is required on every draw. From there you add any other panels you want, each costing its own Insights.Once you place your order, Simpafy creates the lab requisition and sends it to you as a PDF, in the app and by email, usually within a day or two. Bring it to any Quest Diagnostics location. No appointment is needed, and there is nothing to prepare.When your results come back, Simpafy notifies you and Simpa walks you through what they mean.
How often should I get bloodwork?Every 4 to 6 months. That's frequent enough to detect patterns, track how your body responds to changes, and spot trends that emerge over time. If you make a change in your life, you'll see whether it's working within a few months, not a year later. The more continuous your baseline, the sharper the picture gets year after year.
Where do I go?Simpafy uses Quest Diagnostics locations nationwide. Walk in or make an appointment. No preparation needed. Simpafy will help you find your nearest location.
How long does a lab visit take?About 15 minutes. Even faster when you don't have to pee in a cup and wash your hands.
How much blood is taken?A typical draw is a few small tubes, far less than a standard blood donation. If you're adding Insight panels to your draw, it may be a few more tubes.
How long until I get my results?Results are typically available within two weeks, often faster depending on your location and time of week.
Should I change anything before my blood draw?No. Simpafy is tracking your health as you live it, not under artificial conditions. Eat what you normally eat, take what you normally take, live your normal day. The more your bloodwork reflects your actual life, the more meaningful the trends become over time. We're comparing you to you, not to a reference range built on someone else's fasting morning.If a specific test requires preparation, like fasting for certain biomarkers, Simpafy will let you know ahead of time.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?No. No fasting, no urine, no special preparation. That's by design, to minimize the burden on our members. The few biomarkers that require fasting are in separate add-on panels, and we measure kidney function through bloodwork so you don't need a urine sample. Walk into any Quest location anytime during business hours.
Should I stop taking medications or supplements before testing?No. Never stop taking medications without talking to your doctor first. Take your medications and supplements as you normally would. Simpafy is tracking your health as you live it, not under artificial conditions.
Does time of day matter?Not the way you'd think. Some biomarkers like TSH shift naturally throughout the day. In traditional medicine that matters because your result is being compared to a reference range built from morning draws. Simpafy compares you to you. After a few draws, we have your personal pattern at different times of day. Consistency is helpful early on, but over time variability actually adds information.
Do I need to fast?No. Foundation+ and most add-on panels do not require fasting. If a biomarker that requires fasting is being ordered, Simpafy will let you know and help you prepare.
Why doesn't Simpafy require fasting when my doctor does?Your doctor is usually ordering a one-off panel and comparing it to population reference ranges that were built on fasting morning draws. A common example: the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel includes glucose alongside dozens of other biomarkers, but fasting is recommended because of glucose alone. The entire panel rarely gets separated, so you fast for one test out of many.Simpafy is doing something different. Tracking your biomarkers across months and years, comparing you to yourself. We designed Foundation+ around tests that don't need fasting to produce clean longitudinal data. For blood sugar, we use A1c, which reflects your average over three months rather than what you ate this morning. Tests like Insulin that do require fasting are available as add-on panels like Metabolism+, clearly marked so you know what to expect.
Why doesn't Simpafy require a urine sample?Urinalysis is primarily useful for detecting acute conditions like urinary infections or kidney issues that need immediate attention. Simpafy includes blood-based kidney function markers like creatinine and BUN in every Foundation+ draw, with deeper kidney assessment available through Cystatin C in the OrganFunction+ panel. These are stronger markers for tracking kidney health over time than what a urine sample provides.There's also a practical reason. Having to prepare for and provide a urine sample is a small thing, but small annoyances add up. We'd rather remove every barrier we can so you actually complete meaningful draws instead of burning out on inconveniences that add minimal long-term clinical value.
Can I get blood drawn at home?Not yet. We're working on making at-home phlebotomy available and will let you know when it's ready.
What happens if something is abnormal?If your results include a critical value, something that could indicate a serious medical issue, a doctor will call you directly. This isn't just an out-of-range number. Critical values are flagged by the lab when immediate medical attention may be needed.For everything else, Simpafy will reach out with your results and help you understand what they mean.
Does pricing vary by state?For now, pricing is the same everywhere Simpafy is available. A small number of states, New Hampshire, Alaska, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, have higher lab costs due to state-level pricing requirements. That difference is being absorbed now, but pricing in those states may change in the future.
Why can't I sign up in Rhode Island?Lab testing in Rhode Island is not currently available through any of our lab partners. We hope to offer coverage there in the future.
Why isn't Simpafy available in New York or New Jersey?New York and New Jersey require the use of a different lab network than what we currently offer. We're working with our partners to make Simpafy available in those states.
